Shopping in Bangalore?? You will never run out of places to shop in Bangalore, there are hundreds of them waiting to be discovered. When it comes to A to Z of Festival Shopping, there are only two places that come to my mind, Malleshwaram and Gandhi Bazaar.
Come festival and there is so much light, colour, vibrancy and chaos, all packed in one street of Gandhi Bazaar. There is never a dull moment here. The divine smell of jasmine combines with the song of the vegetable and fruit vendors shouting out their best prices and the happy families haggling for a good deal.
The best way to see Gandhi Bazaar is on foot, and evenings during festival times are just mesmerizing. Tiny flickering lights along the stretch of the road and some live music being played in some corner with just the right volume to create a vibrant festive mood for the shoppers. If the camera is your best friend, you can have your own little festival right there and your eyes can feast on the pictures for ever :)
Now since its Dasara time and Diwali is fast approaching, you can see a lot of shops selling Dasara dolls and diya’s in beautiful colours. If you havnt completed your shopping yet, Gandhi Bazaar is definitely a place to head to.
Summary: Gandhi Bazaar takes care of all your festival shopping needs, clothes, fruits, flowers, pooja items, whatever it may be. It gives you a pleasant shopping experience as majority of the vendors are nice to you and the crowd shopping there are mostly families.
