Church Street, where love happens...

That evening, it rained heavily, she was drenched from head to toe, and so was I. I was returning from office, walking down Church Street when I first set my eyes on her. She looked beautiful ! And I, I just fell in love with her right there 'aahhh... love at first sight it was!! It was a hectic day at work and I had to skip lunch in order to complete my tasks.

As I was admiring her beauty, she looked at me and my heart skipped a beat. I was so much engrossed into her, that I hardly noticed the car heading towards me and that I was standing in the middle of a main road. The driver of the car shouted ‘Hey!!, are u blind or sleep walking in broad daylight??' and suddenly I came back to my senses and found that the girl was gone. I stood there, amidst the many restaurants around me, coming to ‘restaurant’, what else can one think of, other than food at the mention of the word. Yeah, you caught me right, I am a big-time foodie, I love food more than anything else one can think of, my life revolves around food, I believe "We live to Eat", for me, life is all about food and delicious cuisines.

I dreamt of her again and again that night, once we were standing in front of the chaat stall and sharing a plate of pavbhaji, and then we were in K.C.Das having rasgullas and chamcham. One other time were in Chung wah and then somewhere else, sometime having tandoori chicken and sometime having Italian food. By then I had also decided about our first date, Yes I'll take her to Church Street (Food Street) I will take her to the restaurant of her choice. What else can I do to impress her, I thought.

Next day I saw her again at the same place. This time she wore a sari and looked divine. I walked towards her but, to my surprise she ignored me, and did not even care to look at me once, and the next minute I was outraged and baffled to see her holding someone else's hands and getting close to him. And yes, this was it, the end to my budding love story. To overcome my mixed emotions that of rage, love, and a broken heart altogether, I did nothing but stood there for some 5 minutes gazing at ‘God knows what’ and when I got back to my senses all I did was, walked into Oasis, and ordered some good continental cuisines, I relish, ate to my content and once I was done I went back home, happy thinking, no matter what Church Street will never let me down when it come to my first love "FOOD".
