Chitrasante is an event organized by the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad (CKP) which is a fine arts college and a promoter of visual arts.

This event is a once a year affair where hundreds of artists from all over the country, above the age of 16 can register and exhibit their paintings. The objective is to promote the artists and also provide the public with affordable art, hence the tagline, Chitrasante-“Art for All”. 

Chitrasante spreads out from the CKP campus on to the Kumara Krupa Road, which is specially closed for traffic on that day to make way for artists and artlover. The entire road is a colourful chaos with exhibits on both sides of the road and even tiny side streets. While the paintings surely dominate the event, you can also fine glimpses of other forms of visual art like sculptures, pottery, crafts, etc.

At Chitrasanthe, there is something for everyone. This even attracts thousands and thousands of art lovers who come in search of their perfect piece of Art.
